I did. I uninstalled, downloaded the full AVG anew, I deleted the grisoft
folder with the remaining files and reinstalled the new full
6.0.518 version (free). But nothing changed. The Control Center is
not fully functional, and when I click on Activate a window appears
saying that the installation is "damaged (modified)", and I have to
OK it to close. But the program seems to be working, because it
detected the eicar test string.

When I start the computer and AVG is loaded, the same message
(damaged) appears, and I have to click OK, which is a drag.

Now I suspect that the program is not *damaged*, but that it
is *modified*, and this is the normal behavior of the new version.
Any idea about that? If this is really the case, is it a trick
from Grisoft to push you into purchasing a paid version? Has their
sense of how to conduct business been *damaged* ?.

I hope not.

Any information about this is welcome. An AV is a too
important piece of soft to juggle with damaged programs.

Joan Josep
