Yes, they are needed when there are reserved characters (full-stops)
in the realname part of the email address. Otherwise, what St.Musaic
describes will happen. That's the reason why I put the realname in
quotes (as above), as he tries to do.

Alas, my macro:
%TO=""%TO='"%OFromName on TBUDL" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>'
still works in v2, so I don't know why it doesn't work at St.Musaic.
