The only method I have found so far, to delete old messages, is on a per-folder-basis.Create a common virtual folder that watches all folders you have and select a filter criterion (message older than ...). All messages created before that date will be in that folder.
I think this is a very good advice. I really like the virtual folders approach. Especially for this task I would not always have to specify the parameters.
