The Internet Technologies Group at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany (http://inet.cpt.haw-hamburg.de/) is looking for a researcher (PhD student) in the field of distributed analysis of sensor data for crowd detection in public spaces.
Research work includes * design and experimental verification of distributed data analysis, * design and experimental verification of an intelligent distribution layer for coordination and data fusion, * definition and evaluation of an encrypted convergecast/multipoint-to-point communication. The research background of the position holder should be in distributed systems, sensor programming and networking, or practical analysis of image data. We seek highly motivated applicants holding a master degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a similar discipline. Candidates are expected to have a strong background in performance modeling and quantitative methods, and hands-on network measurement experience. A plus is related research project experience. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. The employments will be according to the German public service pay scale TVL-E13 West for three years.
