Unfortunately these days most resumes seem to be filtered by recruiters, 
HR outsourcing shops, and computers before they ever get to the 
employer.   Since all of these of entities clearly have little 
creativity or sense of humor, it behooves one to stick to a 
standard-issue resume format.  IMHO.

FWIW my resume is 2.5 pages and covers 20 years and 12 jobs.
