The lesson here is to be careful what you put in school policy. If you
don't intend to do it, don't say that you will. OK, you can say it,
bit DON'T PUT IT IN WRITING unless you intend to actually do it.

I think a major part of this is that they claim to preserve all email
communications in their policies which are posted on their web site when
in practice they are not. The lesson is that we should not claim that we
are preserving data if we are not doing so.
Another guess is that there is more going on here that meets the eye -
or the newspaper - or the Internet.
In any case, I have forwarded this article to our superintendent for his
reading pleasure...........
