I thought Aleksej was joking... The suggestion to get rid of groff
because it needed C++, and replace it with XML, a full blown web
browser, and god know how many libraries seemed like the ultimate joke.

What happened to the original roff? I mean, groff is just a gnu
replacement for roff. Maybe switch back to the original?

Hmm. What about roff from 2.11BSD? That shouldn't be so hard to get building on NetBSD...
