It isn't ambiguous relative to where it occured in the thread, of from
the quote. :)

SM = Silicon Mechanics.  

Which are, I believe, mostly labelled SuperMicro boxes - but Silicon
Mechanics has done all the tedious research, part matching,
compatibility testing, etc... that sometimes seems to fall to the
customer with SuperMicro.
