Hello All, I was trying to update firmware using X-O *only*; and then it seemed like the firmware didn't install properly.
Below are the series of trials. 1.Connected the laptop to power supply and internet and tried shutting down the system then turning it on. This didn't help me get a happy face. 2.Tried to update the firmware by following the instructions on http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Fix_Clock as per the pointer - Opened the terminal and entered su- - Typed the command "wget http://dev.laptop.org/pub/firmware/q2d14/bootfw.zip" which downloaded the zip file bootfw.zip. - Tried to copy the zip file to "/versions/boot/current/boot/" from /home/olpc/ but it showed a message "no such file or directory" -So i copied the zip file from the current directory to " /versions/boot/current/boot/" - Executed "reboot" command - The following error is displayed "xinit:unexpected signal" >From there on, everytime i try rebooting / force shut down and start, i get invalid firmware error "Invalid Firmware Image ......... Powering off in 30 seconds" And the date issue is not resolved yet.. Its been a couple of hours that my laptop is connecetd to AC power supply. Thanks Robin!
