The "K-slurs" rely on dvips's PostScript header files. They won't work in PDFTeX and they are not tested with any TeX->PS/PDF conversion method
other than TeX > DVIPS > Distiller/GS
Hope this helps,

Hello Arjen,When using dvipdfm or dvips as dvi renderer, you may issue \psslursimplepositioningtrue to avoid the third tex pass. I didn't try musixpss with pdftex yet.\psslursimplepositioningtrue has become obsolate and unsupported since ver.0.50 released on this Jan 5. Please use ver.0.50 and \psslurmode{dvips} instead of that. The usage is same. And also 'pdfTeX support' is available in only ver.0.50 (or later).2. Has anyone found a solution to the slur/tie problem in Acrobat Reader 5 (and, on my system, 4.05 as well)? Do Stanislav's postscript slurs (which I haven't so far been using) work around the problem?
I once tried 'Type K' and this worked very fine with (at least) dvips5.86 + ghostscript6.52 + AcroRead 4.05.
