ps2pdf is NOT a separate program; it is just a script file that uses ghostscript to convert ps files to pdf. This script file is part of the standard ghostscript distribution and is available for both Windows and Linux. Some TeX distributions also have a script file called "dvipdf," which first calls "dvips" and then the "ps2pdf" script from the ghostscript distribution.
