If gas prices continue their incremental increase as they have in the past 30
years, then what will the price be in the summer of 2037? What will cavers
do then?

It went from about 70 cents a gallon to $ 3.05, which is over 4 times as much.

So does that mean gas will be over $ 12 a gallon? Or will inflation fix that?

I am thinking that we will find ways to not drive so much. More things will
be done by video-conferencing, or we will finally realize that the suburban
model doesn't make sense.

We have a very small community in Houston called Mid-town. There you
can live in a 5 story luxury condo, and be within walking distance to good
restaurants and stores, and bicycling distance to parks and the downtown
job center. But the cost of rent and eating out there is
out-rageous, and it is not really set up for families. And the
crime in the area is high.

I have been trying to find a new career near my house, but haven't had
any luck with
that, so I continue my long, long drive to & from Houston, ( which I often do
twice a day. )
