         I wholeheartedly agree.  This has been brought up before, 
and might get slightly better for a while before slipping into 
boredom again.  While I'm sure cavers appreciate the generosity of 
those who donate prizes, nobody really wants to sit through an hour 
of giving away bandanas and koozies.  I hope that the door prizes can 
be made exciting and quick.  If there are a lot of small prizes, how 
about combining them so that one person wins several items at once 
instead of giving away each one individually.  Those winners will 
probably distribute unwanted items to their friends anyway, saving 
the rest of us the boredom of watching it.  Best would be for donors 
to think about the prizes they offer, and opt for fewer higher 
quality ones rather than lots of little irrelevant ones.  Not as much 
advertising value, I know, but that's not why we're there.  Just my 
two cents.  And I _will_ be there this year!  :-)
