The Alcalde of the Candela ejido and his brother a UT grad told Fito Santos, Ed Alexander, Terry Plemons, myself and a dozen or so cavers who were going to the cave as a field trip during the last Bustamante clean up that it was closed to the public and dangerous. "Histo", he said and that a group of Monterey covers had all gotten histo from the cave. It is a water source for the nearby rancho. He also added that there was some talk of making it a show cave. They were jealous of the Bustamante cave. I doubt that it would be much of a draw since it isn't a well decorated cave and pretty ugly as caves go. The hot springs might be a draw.
