Q1           What are the threads that bananashave?

A1           Health-Aid Answered by Mathew P.Vanderburg 23h

Those "threads" are called phloems, and although many people don't eat them,
it's actually a good idea to do so,since they have fiber, potassium, vitamin A
and B6.

The phloems areresponsible for transporting nutrients to the fruit so that it
developscorrectly. So although it may not seem like it, it is one of the most
important parts of the banana

Q2           Are American houses as big as theyare in the movies?

A2           Ernest W. Adams Lived in The UnitedStates of America
(1966–1999)May 22

No. Themovies depict large houses for two reasons:

The rich people whomake movies have little conception of how most of America
lives. They all livein big houses in California and think that’s normal.

Large interior setsprovide more room for action, and of course for the cameras
and crew. It’s justeasier to film if you have a big set than a little one.
(Spaceships are nowherenear as big on the inside as the movies make them look,
either—and for the samereason.)

Q3           How is it that pioneers in 1800scould drink water right from lake
or river without any problem, but now wecan’t?

A3           Chris Harper Biologist,Astrophysicist and all around seeker. Fri

Actually they couldn’t just drink directly from a river. They just did it
anyways as they didn’t have the luxury of being able to boiltheir water.

The main reason youdon’t do it now is runoff. Runoff from the land with
pollution, fertilizers, manure and all kinds of toxins that might be in the air
or water.

Back then therewasn’t much of that going on but do you know what there was?
Parasites.

Meet Giardia Lamblia:

These littleparasites are found in cool, clear, mountain rivers and springs.
Basically ifthere animals around and their poop gets in the water you’ll find
these guysswimming around in it. They will cause giardiasis. It’s a nasty
little diseaseas they take up residence in your small intestine and decide to
make a go ofit.

It won’t kill you, just make you really sick. This is why if you’re ever out in
the woods and needto drink some water from a stream or something boilit first.
Then let it cool and pass it a few times between two cleancontainers to aerate
it bit and get rid of that “flat” boiled flavour.

Q4           I have 2 rooms on the roof and thewater tank at the same level.
How can I get water pressure for those roomswithout having to move the water
tanks to a higher level?

A4           Ramadevi Gidugu Bachelor of commercefrom Andhra University College
of Science and TechnologyMon

You can use halfhorse power or little less than that capacity motor pump. It
should serve thepurpose. Should have flow senser also. So water pressurewon't
build up on motor.

My note-  I am notclear about the answer. Motorpump with flow senser. Those who
can explain more  maykindly write on it.

Q5           What is the maturity benefit in lifeinsurance?

A5           HDFC Life One of India's leading lifeinsurance companies. Mar 10

After a policymatures, the policyholder receives a lumpsum amount. This is
known as maturitybenefit. This amount isequivalent to the sum of all the
premiums paid during the tenure of the policyalong with additional benefits
that are offered by the insurer.Usually, these benefits are added at regular
intervals and the overall corpusis a considerable amount at the end of the
policy term. The conditions forreceiving the maturity amount are outlined
clearly in the policy document.

As there aredifferent types of life insurance plans, there are different types
of maturitybenefits that can be seen below:

Endowment plan

An endowment planis a combination of a savings plan and an insurance plan. The
funds are invested in debtinstruments. Therefore, a policyholder can expect
steady returns. Ifthe policyholder survives the policy term, then the amassed
corpus is paid as amaturity benefit to the policyholder. Certain savings plans
such as HDFC LifeSanchay Plus also offer the maturity benefit in the form of
regular incomerather than a lump sum amount.

United linked insurance plan

A ULIP plan is linked to the share market and alsooffers protection in the form
of insurance. Therefore, it is recommended tohold a ULIP for a longer period of
time to enjoy a healthy maturity amount.

Return of premium plan

If the policyholdersurvives the term, then the total premium paid by the
policyholder is returnedas a maturity benefit at the end of the policy term.

Thus depending onthe plan that you purchase, you can avail maturity benefits.

Q6           Is there a single fried food from themarket that is actually
healthy and you should try it?

A6           Bhuvana Rameshwar Prefer healthy food11h

The medu vada of Tamil Nadu.It is had regularly for breakfast with idlies or
pongal. Many people have itfor brunch or tea time with coffee or tea.

It is made of uraddhal (black gram) with chopped green chillies, cumin, ginger,
asafoetida curryleaves and salt. Some make it with black pepper and chopped
greens too.Theginger pieces, asafoetida, cumin help in digestion of the lentils
. Curryleaves help to retain hair colour and prevent early greying.

It is rich inprotein and fats. Good for those who do not have time for a proper
meal duringbusy work hours.

My note- Medu vada should be hot served and very lightbrownish. It should not
be over fried. In trains and some restaurants we getover fried and COLD
MEDUVADAS.

Q8           Which ink tank printer would be thebest in India under Rs. 20,000?

A8           Prasanna Bhalerao M. Sc. inElectronics & Physics, Fergusson
College, Pune Sat

For that much sum, you may be able to get a good laser printerwith duplex
printing, auto document feeder scanning, full networking (wired Ethernet +
wireless), etc.

Frankly, I gottired and frustrated with ink tank printers. These are good of
you usefrequently, maybe at least pone or two pages daily. Else the heads get
cloggedup.

Finally, Ipurchased Brother LP for ₹18,500 but now theprice has moved to
₹24,500. Howeverother options could be available.

Q9           Why do people leave Bangalore forother cities like Mumbai and
Chennai?

A9           Shankar M ·Lives in Bengaluru,Karnataka, India (1996–present)Sun

I don't think many would leave Bangalore , if it hasforced them to leave then
maybe it is due to issues like overcrowd, traffic ,language problems , maybe
due to unsupportiveinfrastructure and deteriorating quality of living.Bangalore
is more like cityfor engineering students , techies and startups

I don'tthink most people would prefer Chennai for its hot and humid weather .

Regarding leavingfor Mumbai — due to it's commerical value like bank employee
jobs in big banks, finance business and Construction companies . Mumbai has
more GDP and moneythan Bangalore+Chennai+Hyderabad +Kochi

My note- I readelse where the climate in Chennai only are two types
irrespective of the seasons-Hotand very hot.

Q10         How can I train my bones to becomestronger and tougher apart from
nutrition?

A10         Ken Saladin A student of life 7mo

Physical exercise. For example,right-handed tennis players have a thicker and
stronger clavicle on the rightthan on the left. So do many right-handed
carpenters and other constructionworkers. (And conversely for left-handed
people.) Anthropologists who studyhuman remains can often tell whether a person
was right- or left-handed fromthis, and can distinguish the skeletal remains of
the laboring class from theself-pampering aristocracy.
