Upon further consideration I don't think it makes sense for me to get a
discontinued X301 via the outlet. So now I'm leaning toward an X201. Unless
somebody can recommend an altogether different brand? (I wish Lenovo still
offered something like the X301; I like the bigger screen -- the X201 screen
seems a bit so-so.)
My first choice:
Intel Core i3-390M Processor (2.66GHz, 3MB L3, 1066MHz FSB)
Intel Core i5-560M Processor (2.66GHz, 3MB L3, 1066MHz FSB)
Intel Core i7-620M Processor (2.66GHz, 4MB L3, 1066MHz FSB
Since heat/fan noise is a particular concern, does anybody happen to know
how these processors compare in that regard? Most of my computer time comes
down to: Web, email/typing, video (watching, and a bit of encoding),
processing photographs. I'd enjoy the luxury of a fast new laptop, but not
if that makes it hot and noisy.
Any suggestions here? Thanks kindly for any advice! -Scott
