I've got a T42P here in excellent shape and with the 14" wide display. Just keeps throwing the dreaded "fan error" on BOOT.
Got a new long fan off Ebay and opened it up to perform a fanectomy, only to find that the existing fan's heatsink is epoxied to the CPU! Seriously, it's not just stuck because of dried heatsink compound, it's glued on. Looks like I'll be needing a new MB for this puppy. Had a very needy and worthy new non-profit home for it too.
