Another alternative?
rsync
This is a separate action but thanks for raising this subject.
I've designed my backup system around this ap but have been unable
to figure out the command-line switches. I have 5 data partitions
configured as drive letters and want on execution to copy (appropriate)
bits of all changed files to a remote server which I have configured with
the identical drive letters (D E F G H). (It runs on Netdrive and the
remove drive lettters appear as local drive letters at "Y.")
Until I figure out how RSYNC works, I must execute XCOPY *.* /D
which copies the entirety of all the changed files, obviously inferior to
RSYNC which would move just the changed bits.
Can anyone help? Tks vy much

Look at http://www.xxcopy.com/xxtb_001.htm for a list of
switches.
In particular, look at /BB -- I think thats what you want.
