I think this is the sort of thing that belongs under contrib or outside of
Thrift entirely. Thrift was designed to make it possible for things like this
to work properly even when the core is completely unaware of them. I think
Thrift is complicated enough already without having to define and integrate a
SASL-compatible protocol. Do others agree?
