Think I solved the problem.... There is an option to select "new mail"
on the Yahoo page.
Since this account has been in place for 5 years or more, I noticed that
the "new mail" option was not selected on their mail page. On the yahoo
account that I set up at home to test the yahoo setup features, this
option was not available (I already had it). Once I selected "new mail"
on their mail page, the downloads happened.
Apparently Yahoo updated their service at some point in the past, and
the church never bothered to take the option. Understandable
considering - they had 6,000 messages on the server - they never
bothered to delete anything and apparently yahoo didn't either. At
first I had thought this was the problem Took the new church secretary
about 2 days to clear that mess up.
I know it works because I tested their account on my system and had to
forward 15 messages that downloaded to me when I set up their account on
my PC. Fixed now, will know for sure tomorrow morning.
My wife, watching TV, commented that since what I was doing seemed
right, the problem might be on the Yahoo Mail Page. Wish I had thought
of it, but credit where credit is due.
