I have tried to figure out if I might have configured my GAPYD interface to confound the Webmail/GMail extension.
I was showing "Spam" and "Trash" in my list of labels. I tried hiding them - I don't remember what the default was, but I know that "Spam" did not show by default. That didn't help. I determined that, if I have multiple messages in my Inbox, it takes a while to get them all. If I Get Mail in TB, it downloads the most recent message and gives me the "Error marking a message as deleted" It won't download any more messages until I go to GAFYD and delete the one that I downloaded. Then it will download the next one, give the error, etc.
