Bob, Its settled down to around 1.3A @ 24V now. I'll up the volts to 28 and see wat happens then.
Trying to trace where Port 1 comes out. Port 2 is the front panel port from pins 7 (TXD) and 8 (RXD) on U107. Pins 13 (RXD) and 14 (TXD) from U107 go to Port 1. Logic probe can see no activity on these lines. Also :SYST:COMM? Gives us SER2 so I know that the primary port (front panel) is correct. And :SYST:COMM:SER1:BAUD? yields +9600 so it knows about port 1. Why? I was thinking I could use port 1 to drive a refclock.. -marki -----Original Message----- From: time-nuts-boun...@febo.com [mailto:time-nuts-boun...@febo.com] On Behalf Of Bob Camp Sent: Wednesday, 29 May 2013 2:36 AM To: 'Discussion of precise time and frequency measurement' Subject: Re: [time-nuts] Z3815A Hi That's more power that it should be pulling. It *should* be happy on anything from about 20 to 60 volts. I run mine on 28 volts. Last time I looked it was pulling well under an amp. How much under - don't remember. The "kit" version from China comes with a 24V 2.x A supply. As with any OCXO, the power drops quite a bit after warm up. My question is, What is the input voltage range on the Z3815A? Also, one for those familiar with the Z3815A, "Holdover Uncertainty Predict:" is showing 2 dashes ( -- ) From my experience with the Z380x clocks this usually is displayed right after its locked to GPS. Is there a problem with this unit, or the Z3815A won't ever display this, or just give it some more time? -marki _______________________________________________ time-nuts mailing list -- time-nuts@febo.com To unsubscribe, go to https://www.febo.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/time-nuts and follow the instructions there. _______________________________________________ time-nuts mailing list -- time-nuts@febo.com To unsubscribe, go to https://www.febo.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/time-nuts and follow the instructions there. _______________________________________________ time-nuts mailing list -- time-nuts@febo.com To unsubscribe, go to https://www.febo.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/time-nuts and follow the instructions there.
