I'm guessing the big change we're seeing in DNS isn't the rotation, it's
the new load balancing based on connection speed. I've got a well
connected box I've set to 1.5Mbps, I'm guessing I'm not getting "enough"
traffic now. Don't have the data yet to be sure.

I am seeing the reverse of this, normally traffic stayed low, with a
few spikes per day, now I see one continous spike since monday.

the patbox and patbox3 are part of the pool, at 1000mbit
patbox4 is part of the pool, but I set it to 512kbit connection,
cause I am charged per bandwidth on it.

I would say the new DNS is working great. I rode in on the
Slashdotting wave, and traffic was a meager 5-15 packets/sec with 2-3
daily TTNet bursts to 400-500pps until last weekend.
Now with the new DNS, more traffic is being sent to those with bigger
pipes. I am set to 1000Mbit, and I am seeing a few dozen bursts daily
to 150pps with about the same 5-15pps base traffic. Seems to be
working like a champ -- at least the load balancing aspect, since the
peaks are shorter in length, lower pps, and more frequent.

Although not as dramatic, the last burst of traffic I saw was a few days
ago. I usually see 1 spike anywhere from a couple times a day to
every> other day. My guess is that slashdot affect (heh, it's
actually *good*
this time). That are or the new dns system is working REALLY good :)
