Gerry,

I have used DB/2, DB400 and Oracle with different ERP systems. Now postgresql
looks like THE database for free ERPs like the ones in the Compiere family
(which all of them support PostgreSQL now), TinYERP, the very popular in Spain
AbanQ, SQLLedger, etc... but I don't know of any ERP which deserves that name
that uses MySQL. In my company we give support to many web installations most
of them using a MySQL databases with MyISAM tables and we are very happy with
them. But that's it.

An ERP is probably the main information system on any organization. Choosing an
ERP that supports MySQL just because it supports MySQL leaves the options
pretty short right now. In fact... which ERPs do run on MySQL? ... mmmm. ...
AbanQ does but the developers discourage it's use... I don't see the benefits,
really...

I don't care if TinyERP supports MySQL or not. I would certainly wouldn't like
that many needed features get later on the way because of that.

By the way... the 30th of February is a database issue, not something the
developer should deal with... specially if we want database independence...
right? ;)

Regards,
Pedro
