Gee, Guys, the discussion has strayed from the problem at hand. I have a
software package that won't start, and discussions of free speech and free beer
don't move toward resolution.

I gave my tiny-server and postgresql connection parameters, which I thought
might be the problem, in my first post. Additional information:

I'm working on a one-year-old Dell 530n that came with Ubuntu Fiesty
pre-installed. Tiny worked. I used the auto-upgrade process to go to Ubuntu
Hardy. A swiftly disappearing message flashed on the screen, during the
upgrade, which said something about postgresql 8.3. My connection to Tiny was
broken and I have not been able to restore it.

Postgresql 8.3 is NOT installed. I'm still running on 8.2.

Please tell me how to do a traceback and I will attemp it.

Please tell me what other specific information you need in order to help me.

thanks for your time and effort,
worxguy
