Stability is more important than features, We all agree... But I don't agree 
with your point of view :

- Shorter release will not take 4 month to make them stable
- More tester, means better quality
- Smaller release allow you to report some improvement and will keep the stable 
branch more stable !

For now, we have quite a lot of regression in the stable branch cause you need 
to push some improvement in it. You can't wait 1 year to improve the print 
system, but 6 month is ok...

Last point : It's true that customer will ask to have the new version !! But 
who want it, will pay for it ! So everyone is happy with that I think :)

At least, I prefered when release come out more ofently.. this means less 
change in the stable branch... which means also less time spent on fixing 
regression... We (partners) don't earn money on regression fix, but we do on 
migrating the customers system !
