Guys,

I think you'll be surprised by OpenERP5.2 CRM: that's a place were they
definitely made huge improvements over 5.0.x.
May be not as complete as Sugar, but the advantage of being integrated (and so
flexible) is often overweight those features limitations.

People tend to look at SugarCRM but totally underestimates the cost of the
connector (building it, its limits and the administration of it). I know what I
am talking about: along with Openlabs we made the new Magento connector and
this connector has like 1 expert man year work inside, so not just the 2 weeks
for a POC). Its installation/administration is also not trivial...

So it certainly make sense to connect to Sugar, but I think it also just makes
sense to have the 5.2 CRM as an OpenERP module.

Speaking about connecting to sugar, we will soon talk about a Kettle ETL plugin
we made that give full access to the OpenERP API from Kettle. And Kettle
connects to almost anything, Kettle 4 (dev) has a Sugar connector I think. So
it might be a good way to go to build a flexible solution quickly, we couldn't
do it for Magento cause the Magento WS API is awkward and its database is not
normalized at all, now for Sugar it might work, we are getting excellent
results using it along with OSCommerce for instance.
We are yet to document it, but here is the code and binaries:
