That sounds even better! I downloaded ZeosLib 7 Alpha and got it 
installed in Delphi 2010. So far so good.

Only problem is I can't get my 'connection-string' correct.
If I use

gTIOPFManager.ConnectDatabase(server:database, UserName, Password);

zeoslib tries to connect to localhost. It seems it doesn't pick up the 
server from the full databasename.

Do you have an example for gTIOPFManager.ConnectDatabase that works for you?
