I am both amazed and stunned by this conversation. Today I received the ad
announcing Gazzaniga's Intro text. I was hurriedly uncluttering my office
before leaving for the weekend and almost threw the add away, but then I
thought, "What does Gazzaniga have to say to intro students?" I took a
quick look inside and scanned the contents. I noticed numerous chapters
titled with the word "cognition" in them. Ahh, something new. Is this the
direction the field and I might want to pursue? I set the ad down in my
"check-it-out" pile and left my office soon after. It is still sitting
there waiting for my attention. My point is, I didn't even notice the
picture of the text's cover. I'd like to hear some discussion about what is
inside Gazzaniga's text. For now, I don't want to "judge the book by its
cover." I'd like to encourage all of the rest of you to consider doing this
too. Does anyone have any words to offer about what we will find inside the
controversial cover?

Let us hear from you, Laura

Hi Donald,
I have to admit I am amused by all the fuss
created over Micheal Sylvester. I find him to be
creative after all (some of his ideas ARE farfetched
after all!!).

One thing all Tipsters should remember is that most
(if not all) email programs include filters which can
block out emails based on subject, sender, or else.

So really, anyone who does not want to read Micheal's
mail only has to put those filters to work. This takes
care of the liberty of expression issue. He will still
be posting to the list, but less and less people will
be reading him... and by consequence, less and less
will reply to him.

If anyone dislikes the contents of Micheal Sylvester's
messages, simply get rid of them all together.

Just thought I'd share this little piece of knowledge
of technology.

Cheers to all!
