You must know that is only half of her title in Canada. The other half is:

Elizabeth Deux, par la grce de Dieu, Reine du Royaume-Uni, du Canada et de ses autres royaumes et territoires, Chef du Commonwealth, Dfendeur de la Foi.

Can’t you be convicted in some parts of Canada for making such a faux pas?

Dear Tipsters,

Thanks for Allen for giving us the details of the meaning of UK, Gb, BI etc.

As for the Queen, here is her official title (Internet information):

In the UK:

"Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith."

In Canada, where the Queen is the Head of State, her official title is "Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom, Canada and Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith."

Interesting analogy Scot Rule in the UK. There are also many Quebeckers high up in Canadian government!

Stuart
