Wow, what a reporter can do to a quote to change its meaning! Note the ellipsis that shows a portion of the sentence, doubtless an important portion, is missing. So, the quote appears to read that Oxycontin is actually another name for heroin.
>From the article ***** "People don't realize how that drug is formulated. If you cut into Oxycontin, you crush it up, what you're left with is a phenomenally pure, phenomenaly strong ... really a heroin that comes in a pill bottle," said Jeff Sweetin, special agent in charge of operations at the Drug Enforcement Agency in Denver. ***** -- Paul Bernhardt Frostburg State University Frostburg, MD, USA On 12/20/08 3:45 PM, "Joan Warmbold" <[email protected]> wrote: > http://www.thedenverchannel.com/health/18303242/detail.html > > > Thanks Carol--but it also lead to this rather interesting but sad story > about teens drug use. > > Joan > >> Here... >> >> http://www.thedenverchannel.com/health/18297954/detail.html >> >> cd >> >> Carol L.
