WHAT THEY NEVER TOLD YOU IN PSYCHOLOGY CLASS:

Freud is given credit for all types of psychoanalytic stuff but the truth is
that FReud was not an original.Freud took many ideas from the Greeks and the
Greeks stole many of their ideas from Egypt and Africa. As a matter of fact the
roots of clinical psychology lie in the ancient teachings of many of the
African philosophers.
>From dreams to behaviorism to gestalt were been emphasized in the writings of
>Egyptian scholars to the practices of the healing arts of the various
>ethnicities
of Africa. But there was a difference the Europeans had to modify some of those
teachings that triclkle down from Africa to suit the nature of their
societies,As a matter of fact the mediterranean was like a Roman and beyond
were the barbarians. The Eurocentric approach grew out of that tradition of
emphasizing individualism because of the break up of those hoarding tribes.
Clinical pschology in ancient Africa and Egypt were focused on the
collectivist aspect of those societies, hence family therapy were emphasized. The
modern
Eurocentric clinical psychologist is walking in the footsteps of the
shamans, black magic praticioners and the witch doctors of ancient times. The
first DSM was located in the ancient scholarly libraries of Alexandria,Egypt.
Africans who lived close to the serengetti had schools of thought similar to
the ideas of gestalt,behaviorists
and rational emotive therapy.
The Africans knew that scizophrenia and manic-depression were
brain
disorders and were the first to practice psychosurgery to ease those brain
disorders. It should be noted that the Eurocentric clinical model failed to
help and alleviate the problems of many African-Americans.In the 1960s the
Black muslims did more to help black people in and out of prisons achieve a
sense of efficacy and competence and helped managed many of the social problems
at that time.African-Americans do not need to be under the supervision of the
Eurocentric paradigm but the teachings of Malcolm,Elizah.and Farrakhan
with roots in the African tradition are very effective. And so is the healing
that takes place through the collective spirit.

AND THIS IS WHAT THEY NEVER TOLD YOU IN PSYCHOLOGY CLASS.
