I want to second both, Rick's and Marcia's recommendations. In fact, we have
tentatively decided on Myers' text for the Fall. I want to stress, however,
that anyone considering adopting a new introductory textbook should
_absolutely_ check out the ORTP's resource which is based on the work of
Richard Griggs and his colleagues. There is a ToP article based on the compedium:

Griggs, R. A. (1999). Introductory psychology textbooks: Assesing
levels of
difficulty. Teaching of Psychology, 26, 248-253.

Griggs and his team have recently published an analysis of Social and Abnormal
texts. This article should also be very helpful for those who are in need of
selecting a text for these courses.

                Christopher, A. J., Griggs, R. A., & Hagans, C. L. (2000). Social and
Abnormal Psychology Textbooks: An Objective Analysis. Teaching of Psychology,
27, 180-189.
