I found a very popular model that is used in the UK that has an optional valve feature which allows one to go without the bag for periods of time. Some indwelling models have that capability, but I don't know if they have been FDA approved here in the States. My two buddies are hoping to be offered that feature. That's good news about no infections!! Grace
