Carol, I was told that TM hit like a tornado and we were left to care for the problems it left behind. All the word “transverse” means is that both sides of the spine were affected. It is the “myelitis” that delivers the bomb! It may be correct to say that TM struck, just like Polio, and we deal with the aftermath. Janice
