Besides, how can we > possibly write Raphael dialogue without using "snarled", "grunted" > and "snapped"?? ;o) Yeah, I like using active words to describe how or what the characters was doing when they are talking too. But as that one How to Write Readable Fanfic webpage also pointed out, it's good to put some good judgemne into those too. My pet peeve of late is "hissed", since lot so people who write for Raph also say that. But... hissing makes an 'sss' sound, and if you don't have anything to make a hissing noise, then that's the wrong description to use. Hissing: "Where'ssssss my Preciousssss?!" Not hissing, maybe more like seething: "Why do ya always give me trouble?" Or this.. also redundant: "Wow, I got it!" he shouted. The exclamation point pretty much states that the person is already shouting, so there's no real need to reinterate. In that case, a body action would be better, like "he jumped up and down". ~HT ...a working I will go... ===== "A wise man never loses anything, if he has himself." ~Master Splinter ---== ] http://www.turtlequest.com [ ==--- __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
