My lowly box with only 256mb of RAM is trying to run too many spamd processes (5). How can I reduce this number? I can't seem to find how spamd is started. I was expecting it to be in /etc/init.d/ somewhere but perhaps things have moved around since I last built a qmail box about 4 years ago.
spamd is started from daemontools. The configuration run script is /service/spamd/run. You want to edit that file and I believe the argument you want is -m [num], but see the spamd man page for details. After you have edited that script, restart spamd with svc -du /service/spamd.
