is it possible in Tomcat's configuration to specify the number of servlet instances created when this servlet implements the javax.servlet.SingleThreadModel interface.
No. The value is 20 instances.
There's a constant you can change in the StandardWrapper class, of course, and a parameter could be added in StandardContext to set it.
