Well, I for one *am* using "parents" and think it's useful.

It quickly shows the parent revision(s) of the _working_directory_.

See 'hg parents' on the command line.

(I'm even thinking about showing them permanently, no matter
which revision is selected. See the commit dialog in thg default tip
for a possible layout).

Compares nicely with "heads", which shows you quickly all topological
branch heads.

Um, where is that?

of the working dir?

Or are you confusing the parents of the working dir with the
parents of the currently selected revision?
