I'm assuming you are on Windows, is this correct?

I'm not quite up to date on debugging, so you probably want help from
somebody else.

Some time ago there was a file in %ProgramFiles%\TortoiseHg named something
.log

I think you can also find out from the command line. E.g.
> set DEBUG_THG=1
> hgtk log

I seem to recall that you can also do
> hgtk log --debugger
or was it
> hgtk log --traceback

Do you have any other python application installed?

How about GTK applications?

Applications that modify the Windows Explorer context menu?
