I should have measured before writing that - I had assumed like boom
there was a large cap.

As a workaround to unplugging the socket but still have power off -
user could use a remote controlled socket which can learn the power off
code from the remote (but then I suppose the remote controlled socket is
also using a tiny amount of energy).
