Somehow I doubt that in your country it is a CRIMINAL offence.  There
may be CIVIL liability in some appropriate circumstances (which clearly
don't apply to the instant issues of this thread because there is
nothing wrong with the Touch, at least not on the scale you are
complaining about), but not CRIMINAL.  The difference is that civil
penalties may involve fines, if at all, and criminal penalties may
involve incarceration.  

But beyond that, in the United States, making threats of criminal
prosecution to gain an advantage in a civil proceeding is itself a
crime, namely the crime of extortion.  

I guess one remedy for Logitech if it were truly faced with such
ridiculous bad faith threats would be to simply not sell in a country
with such (hypothetical) draconian rules.  There are previous examples
of companies doing just that, e.g. Google pulling out of China.

One of the previous poster's analogy to programming a VCR is a great
post. And just returning it was also a great suggestion.

Frankly, I wouldn't even dignify the original complaint with any
helpful troubleshooting suggestions.
