Hi guys Thanks for all your helpful information. I think I found the issue. As you already figured out there are two channels. Channel zero measures visible and infrared light whereas channel one only measures infrared and is meant to compensate for the infrared part in channel zero. The manufacturer of the ambient light sensor provides a formula to calculate a lux value from the two channels. It looks like the formula is incorrect when there is only infrared light reported on channel one (channel_zero = 0 and channel_one > 0).
