If the OP really received this (I wasn't there and it might be April 1
someplace), it is most likely because some asshole bought a Touch from
Amazon and returned this fake, the Amazon employee opened it, saw the
Touch display, and put it back in stock. Then they shipped it to the OP
thinking it was a good unused return.

Some years back I bought a bread maker for the better half because she
loves to bake. She opened the box and there was a cinder block inside.
Somebody had returned a new purchase so the store saw it was taped up
and nice and heavy so assumed the bread maker was in there. Probably
went to returns when there was a nice long line so they would be in a
hurry.

My cousin bought an XboX at Christmas for my nephew and on Christmas
morning when my nephew opened it there was a very old and heavy VCR in
the box. Now that just isn't right!

Looks like something like that could have happened here. The odd thing
is why bother with the model number stickers or are they thinking that
the return guy is just going to scan a label and not know what a Touch
really looks like because of all the products they carry?

So is Jim right and you got it from Amazon?
