I agree with your main point about the TOUCH being fine as is, but what if you ALREADY HAVE A SMART PHONE. And what if you have 6 or 7 Squeezebox players you want to control from anywhere in the house or garden! Of course costs are relative to income, but with all of this stuff, even the Transporter, we're not talking the kinds of $$$$$$ that even medium-end audio equipment usually commands. The SB stuff is a real bargain given what you get. again, I agree with you on the Touch being fine as is. I also think if people want to play with mods to get the nth degree of performance, that's OK too.
