I was part of the beta group testing the Touch and continue to run the
beta server version 7.6, for which there are firmware updates to the
Touch -several times a week-. I've updated the Touch's firmware
literally hundreds of times.

I've seen very few failures of the upgrade process, and none that I can
recall over the past six months or more. Normally it takes just a
minute or two for it to install, be verified and reboot. It could be
because it was upgraded from mysqueezebox.com instead of a local server
that it was so slow, and it may have been interrupted before it
finished. If you're upgrading from a local server I think you have
very little to worry about.
