The devs don't really know why, yet .

But they have to make it work for all supported sample rates .
The default works with all sample rates the products support.

But still should they really have an audible impact ? to low buffers
seems to make it click and pop suggesting that you actually drop bits
.

I don't understand alsa , but I figured that these buffers reflects
what the hardware can support in some way ? so they would be different
for different soundcards in a PC for example and low in low latency
applications.
