That exist in objective reality and not solely in the listener own brain. I'm well aware of that no one can really experience reality as is, we live in our personal interpretation of reality, filtered trough our limited senses and psyche with add ons that never existed or happened and other things filtered away , ask anyone who had interviewed witnesses . But to keep the placebo effect alive you must constanly "upgrade" and tinker otherwise it starts to wear off hmm sound familar... Therefore methods that nullifies the human factor is needed when you try to observe something that is smaller than the "noise" of our own thought processes . Simply . *Is there a real difference (measure). *If it exists, is it really an improvement and not the opposite. *If it exists can it actually be heard , you can measure a lot of things that nobody can hear . *Now we can waste our own precious time to experience whatever we are trying to do :) You can discover real things by chance too , but it's very inefficient, the Audiophile way of try the random thing has made hifi a very ludite thing with little or no progress for the last 20 years. It is very often going backwards (direct heated triode amps anyone). -- Mnyb -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH and assorted amps SiriuS, Classe' Primare and Dynadio speakers, Contour 4 Contour Center, and Contour 1.3SE rear ch.
