Dave - I have 35,000 regular files and 5,000 hires and no problems at all. Also, Norton IS a problem - you need to get rid of it and replace it with MSE WHICH WORKS PERFECTLY WITH SBS. Your experience points to an issue with your (NORMAL) files in terms of tagging and possibly other things such as access rights/permissions.
