The iPods have multitasking if they are on 4.0, the App doesn't because it's not a native iOS App but a Webapp. But usually the biggest delays are because the iPod shuts down WiFi when idle, also, even the Logitech App does preserve it's state.
You could of course use iPeng which you can keep running when the screen is idle, albeit not in the background while other Apps are running - that's simply considered extremely bad style in iOS because it drains battery like hell and so many people forget about Apps in the background. The servers are discovered through an auto discovery feature and that should be quite quick, it usually takes longer to retrieve the actual player state including playlists and things. If you are doing such a big installation, why don't you run a dedicated Squeezebox Server, that would be faster. MySB also would. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote and *New: iPeng for iPad*, at penguinlovesmusic.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88493 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
